What is Tinkercad? Tinkercad is a website that helps you create and design shapes called widgets which you can later print on a 3D printer.

How To Create A Widget
Step One The first thing I have to do is drag a box into the edit grid. Then I have to resize the box to be 4x4mm and 10mm tall.
Step Three After doing both of the previous steps, I added another box and put it on top of the box I added in the second step. The measurements of this box are 2x4mm and 10mm tall. You can see how to put the new box on top of the second one in the picture to the right. Step Five The last step is to select the whole shape and blend it together so that the lines of each shape do not show. After all of these steps are completed, you will have created a widget! |
Widget Sketch Here you can see my widget sketch. Step Two After you have editing the first box, I added a second box behind it. This box is 1x4mm and 25mm tall. I sort of put it inside the original box I created. You can see that in the picture to the left. Step Four After following the three previous steps, I added a wedge on top of the original box. The wedge measures 2x3mm and is 10mm tall. It is placed in the middle of the original box but under the third box.

All Six Widgets
Something I learned while using Tinkercad is that it might be easy to create widgets, but it is also really time consuming so therefore you have to plan ahead of time before creating widgets so that you have enough time to work on them.
